Elm Croft Cottage is on the edge of the Peak District which is the
oldest of the UK's National Parks.
There is a wealth of history, beautiful scenery, lovely drives, great
walks all in and around the cottage.
Local towns and villages to visit include Bakewell, the Hope Valley
through to Castleton, and Matlock and of course, the market town of
Chesterfield with its crooked spire Church (St Mary and All Saints).
There are numerous sights to see and to walk around, including the
many Dales of the Peak District, the moorland, Ladybower Reservoirs
and many, many more.
While you are in the cottage:-
Hulley's Bus (Service No. 170) runs a Chesterfield to Bakewell service, via Baslow, at approximately hourly intervals during the day. This service passes the cottage and a hail stop is nearby. Timetable is here.
The nearest train station is Chesterfield. The station is 4.5 miles from the cottage.
