From the East (M1)

• Leave the M1 at junction 29 (signposted Chesterfield), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A617 (signposted Chesterfield)
• Continue on the A617 for about 6 miles until you get to the end of the dual carriageway at a roundabout
• At this roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A617 (signposted Town Centre, Bakewell A619, Buxton A6)
• Shortly after, at roundabout take the 1st exit (turn left) onto the A619 (signposted Bakewell, Buxton). Go straight ahead at next traffic lights.
• At West Bars Roundabout (Matalan) take the 2nd exit (go straight on) on the A619 (signposted Buxton). Continue on this road.
• At roundabout (Morrison's supermarket on Left) take the 2nd exit (go straight on) onto Chatsworth Road - A619 (signposted Buxton)
• At traffic signals turn right onto Storrs Road - B6150
• At end of road at mini roundabout, turn left on to Old Road
• At T-junction, turn left onto Ashgate Road
• Continue along this road into Old Brampton. At the Dragons Fold (former pub) and the Church (raised wall on right) look at the milometer. We are one mile further on, on the right hand side
• Arrive at S42 7JH, Hollins [Elm Croft is the driveway below the driveway of main house (The Cottage, Hollins), which has a black gas-style lamp]. If you get to the Royal Oak pub, you have gone a little too far, turn in their car park and come back down.

From the West (Stockport)

• Directions To Elm Croft from Stockport
• Leave Stockport on A6 signposted Buxton
• At Hazel Grove follow signs A6 Buxton through Disley
• Continue on A6 passing Whaley Bridge & Chapel en-le-Frith
• After passing Chapel-en-le-Frith take A623 1st exit at roundabout signposted Chesterfield
• In 1 mile bear sharp right at Wanted Inn continuing on A623 towards Chesterfield
• In 10 miles at Calver crossroads traffic signals continue straightforward on A623 signposted Chesterfield
• In 2 miles (Baslow) at mini roundabout take 2nd exit onto A623
• In 150 yds at roundabout take 1st exit onto A619 signposted Chesterfield
• In 0.5 mile take 2nd exit at roundabout signposted M1 Chesterfield A619
• In 0.5 mile bear left at Robin Hood Pub onto B6050 signposted Old Brampton
• Continue on this road signposted Old Brampton eventually passing Fox & Goose pub on left and Wigley School on right.
• Continue down hill for about 400 yards passing Royal Oak pub on left
• Elm Croft is 200 yds on left after Royal Oak and is next to the house with the gas lamp on the drive.
